The Small Print.
Thanks for checking out Music City Trapeze!
We’re excited you’re interested in flying trapeze. Below are answers to some common questions. Don’t see what you need? Shoot us an email at musiccitytrapeze@gmail.com.
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that stretch and move with you—leggings, yoga pants, or fitted shorts are perfect. Tops should cover your shoulders and have a higher neckline since you’ll be upside down a lot. Please avoid baggy pants—they can get in the way!
All jewelry needs to come off before class for safety.
Thinking about grips? You can use gymnastics grips without a dowel, men’s grips with a dowel, or tape/gauze. Women’s dowel grips aren’t recommended. You don’t have to wear grips—lots of flyers don’t. Have questions? Just ask!
When should I get there?
Plan to arrive about 10–15 minutes early. That way you can check in, stretch, and be ready to fly when class starts.

Flying Out of Lines (OOL)
Want to try tricks out of lines? We need approval from our coaches and a signed waiver. All tricks go through a checklist to make sure everyone stays safe.
If you fly OOL at another rig, send us some videos ahead of time—we can usually review and approve you before class. Keep in mind, we can’t guarantee OOL during class unless you get prior approval.
How old do I have to be?
Anyone 8 and up can fly!
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, for flying trapeze the limit is 250 lbs. Safety is our top priority, and this helps our instructors keep everyone safe while taking off, swinging, and landing.
Other things you’ll need to do
All students, no matter their weight, should be able to:
Hang from straight arms for 15 seconds
Wear a safety belt snugly between the hips and ribs
We know this all might sound a bit strict, but it’s all about keeping you safe. Flying trapeze is for everyone, and we want to make sure you can enjoy it safely.
